This video hits me.

This youtube video was about late blooming.

I think I am late bloomer. Even in my own reflections, one thing I find myself is that I have been a generalist. I do things here and there, dabble this and dabble that.

This means I haven't specialized on one particular field but have a become a generalist over the time. Generalist in sense of general computer science, i.e within it's domain, I am interested in most of it.

There are people why have specialized in sub-domain of CS but me, I do everything that comes to my me. I do game dev, web dev, graphics dev, ai dev (pre 2022) and what not.

These days I am confused on what I should. I locked into inverse rendering for the last 6 years now I have no idea how I can market this. It is not LLM dev but AI adjacent. It is not graphics, but graphics adjacent. It is not web dev... you get the idea.

It is something but it is not marketable. Rarely people like it. Sometimes I think what could have happened when I locked with just language instead of CV CG ML.

Like I pushed 100% on the inverse rendering for last two years and payoff was really null. No visibility. No future. Being automated by AI.

Who cares about math? Who cares about tricks and ideas? Who cares about research?

This doesn't give any advantage. Maybe I haven't locked in for a long time?

Quote from video:

When you try something new, set a specific end date rather than keeping your options indefinitely open

While you are exploring, fully commit to the task

Making a wrong choice that you committed to provides valuable data

Shift from a reactive mindset to a proactive one. Life is not something that happens to you; you shape it through your actions

I think it is a nice takeaway.
